Review: Descent 2nd Edition
Paul: Our exhaustive look at the games jostling their way about BoardGameGeek’s Top 100 continues! Today, we have everything from international illness to urban development to mischievous academics. Oh, and opinions. Always with the sassy opinions. ONWARD.

Review: Alchemists

millicent again, a pint-sized tardis, a quizzical diving board, righteous royalty
Quinns: Paul, I did a crime.

Paul: Quinns, it’s okay. You can confess and be absolved. Our world is one that still has room for forgiveness. Come and tell-

Quinns: I might have accidentally fed one of my students a pint of poison.

Paul: Ah. It’s all right. You’re not the first person-

Quinns: Also I misled an adventurer and sold them a flask of soup instead of a healing potion, then I published an academic theory that I knew was a lie.

Paul: Right yes well. The thing is-

Quinns: But worst of all, I forgot how funny Czech Games’ board games can be.

Paul: Quinns, I am so excited to write this review that I have got cracker crumbs all over my keyboard. Let’s go.

Downton Abbey, an accident, 300 games, 800 spiders
Quinns: Ladies and gentlemen, roll up! It's time for a new series where we take a look a team SU&SD's board game collections. Come and see! Be amazed. Be aghast. Be envious. Comment with thought-provoking assertions like "why do you have that game it is bad".

You guys will have seen my collection in the background of loads of SU&SD videos, but I don't think you've seen the work that goes into it. Come with me today as I perform... a CULL.

GAMES NEWS! 12/09/16

endangered orphans, tasty mints, the ol' groove sweats, having your period
Quinns: Paul, it’s time for a dance as old as time. Put on this lycra onesie and take my hand.

Paul: But... there’s no music?

Quinns: Ah, but there is! The news dance is performed to the rhythm of the world’s news, to the crashing rhythm of current events and the harmony of headlines.

Paul: I do sometimes wonder if these contrived scenarios in which we read the news do anything for the site. But...

Quinns: But?

Paul: But not today! Olé!

Podcast #27: Japanese Ghost Welfare

STOP! This is the police. You’re under arrest for being in possession of 27th Shut up & Sit Down podcast. I’m afraid it’s very illegal indeed.

First there was that scaremongering at the beginning about ghosts in Mysterium. Then they openly discussed how they were underqualified for their work as politicians in the recent Megagame, detectives in Consulting Detective and alchemists in Alchemists.

Then there was Quinns’ segment on the most morally questionable games in all of the board game geek database, and they finished the whole affair with a folk game about pre-teen nudity!

Paul’s 2014 Convention Special

small gamers, gnome leaks, praul fantasy, rub daviau, slow zoom to Oxenfurt
We sent Paul off to Firaxicon and then to BGG Con, to conduct insightful interviews with games designers and to test the water in these foreign lands. He was fine. He's fine. It's okay. He came back with lots of info about the upcoming XCOM board game, Kanban: Automotive Revolution and Geek Chic's fine tables.

Admittedly we haven't seen him since he uploaded this video. We're also analysing this video frame-by-frame to figure out who that slender figure is we keep seeing in the background. But we're positive that he's fine, and also if you've seen his body then please let us know!

Games News! 07/07/14
Quinns: Good morning, my playful pickles! Before we start, realise what a marvelous audience you are. You want for nothing more than a glimpse of the fun you'll be having with your friends in the future. You're beautiful, all of you.

If you're anything like me, Hand Made Wonders (pictured above) will be the source at least one evening of boozy giggling. This is an upcoming Taiwanese game where players build monuments out of their hands, but where your left AND right hand will need 3 points each to win, and everyone's hand is part of a different team (determined by the two different-coloured bracelets you're wearing).
