Updates on SHUX and COVID-19

Updated April 20, 2020

We are closely following the information from the officials in British Columbia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom on the ongoing COVID-19 situation and the uncertainties that come with it. Health and safety are our first priority at SHUX. While the future is unforeseeable, know that we continue to monitor the orders of government and public health officials regarding any possible in-person event that may take place once it is healthy and safe to do so. As this continues to evolve and we learn more, we will continue to post updates to this page.

At this time, SHUX’20 is still scheduled for October 16-18, 2020. If that changes, we will notify our community as soon as possible. Ticket holders and exhibitors can expect an email from us, and the community will be notified here and via our Twitter. You can contact us anytime regarding ticket purchases at [email protected].

We greatly appreciate your support of SU&SD and SHUX during this time, whether that’s by holding tickets, making exhibitor deposits, asking about how you can lend support, or promoting our event. It is because of those presales and deposits that we were able to make our down-payments on SHUX’20, and because of the incredible generosity of our community that SHUX ever happened in the first place!

The convention centre and our vendors have been incredible to work with through this crisis, and we want to take this opportunity to thank them as well. They have provided contingencies for us to postpone the show in the worst-case scenario, but we hope it doesn’t come to that and we can all celebrate coming together again this October.

We also understand that circumstances have changed for many people around the world, and we are continuing to uphold our refund policy as it was prior to this crisis to support those individuals and give all of our attendees flexibility and peace of mind. If you’re able to hold off until we all know more we very much appreciate that, but if not we absolutely understand, and you can find those refund details here.

Please take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and continue to be kind and considerate of others. From all of us at Shut Up & Sit Down, we wish you health and safety.
